Release Notes
Updated 2/10/2002
These release notes document new features and bug fixes implemented since the last release as well as important information regarding installation and configuration. Please print this document for your records.
What Versions is this for?
This update is for FastPage 3.02 Single Site and ISP Licenses only. If you do not have version 3.02, please upgrade to 3.02 first.
New Features
Customize FastPage Editor for each web page
Developers can now embed configuration parameters in web pages to make FastPage Editor behave differently for each page. Embedding <!--FPSET:varname=value--> tags in your content overrides the system default settings in your fp3-config.pl. Using this feature, you can fully customize all of FastPage's options including changing the email address for update notifications, change the sizes of form input boxes, specify different directories for uploads and more.

Use SMTP or Sendmail for email notification
FastPage now is able to send email notifications using either SMTP (given an ip address) or sendmail (a common mail delivery package for unix and unix-like servers).

New FastPage GRID Control
This new FastPage field 'type' allows users to edit the content of HTML tables. Advanced options allow users to edit standard settings for HTML tables as well as formatting controls like row alignment and row background colors. An optional checkbox allows users to dynamically add new rows to the table providing a way to add new content to your website. Each cell of data allows you to enter plain text, HTML code and even new FastPage fields.

Changed FastPage fields automatically check the "update' checkbox
When using FastPage Editor, if you edit the value of a FastPage field, the editor automatically checks the "update" box for you so the changes will be saved.

URL Parameters for Username, Password and HOMELINK variables
FastPage Editor now allows you to pass in username, password and HOMELINK variables through URL requests. This allows you to pass in both username and password to FastPage and bypass the logon screen. The HOMELINK parameter tells FastPage where to send the user after page edits have been completed.
Bugs Fixed
Custom Footer
A bug was fixed that prevented the custom footer from showing up even though a valid file was specified in the fp3-config.pl file.

Quotes entered in FastPage Fields
A bug was fixed that truncated user input when quotes were entered into a FastPage field. Quotes are now all escaped so that they can be entered into any FastPage field without causing any problems.

Errors in Installation/Users Manual
Several errors have been corrected in the users manual, specifically relating to the directory names that should be specified in the fp3-config.pl file.
Upgrading
This update is completely backward compatible with web pages and config files designed for use with the previous release(s) of FastPage. For information on installing the update, please see the install.txt file included in the download.
